*update*
As some of you know, I used to play WoW back in 2005/2006. I wanted to get that account back, and Blizzard does have it. But, sometime between 2006 and 2010, someone got that account and is using it. In order to get it back they want a copy of my State ID card! Plus a lot of other info. Sound like a spam email? well, it’s not. Here is the blizzard page asking for the info.
Of course here is a snippet;
Due to legal and security concerns a valid ID is required to verify your identity. This government-issued ID must display your full legal name and date of birth.
Evidence of eligibility is also required to make changes to the accountholder’s name. If you require changes to the accountholder name, you must supply ID that verifies your identity as well as ID or documentation matching the name currently registered to the account.
Please circle all forms of documentation or ID that you have included for verification.
Driver’s License
Military ID
State ID
Passport
Birth Certificate
Court Order of Name Change
Marriage License
Decree of Divorce
Death Certificate
Solution ID: 26361

Needless to say, I will only use “Time cards” and they will not get my CC, trust is gone.

However, he didn’t stay past the 4 hour download, and 2 hours of updating (20mb Down internet connection). Continue reading ‘World of warcraft, again?’
