World of warcraft, again?

Seems i cannot escape this software. My friend is playing Wow again. So, when my wife’s brother said,”I have an extra account if you want to try it out!”, my wife jumped at the chance. However, he didn’t stay past the 4 hour download, and 2 hours of updating (20mb Down internet connection).

I used to play, I did, However every patch day I came into a new issue with graphics, sound, or connection. Patch day, is the day once a month or more, that Blizzard the creators of World of Warcraft, send down a large file to change things in the game. Like for instance, one day you could use an in game skill for 1minute, but then Blizzard decided that after patch, you get 30 sec. instead. This happens monthly, and nothing in the game is static, anything can change, including how the program works. With one update Blizzard released “Warden” a trojan malware/spyware program that helps blizzard make sure you are not cheating but at the same time gives up all your on screen data to Blizz. So, I quit playing.

With the install finished I decided to be nice and login for my Wife, However, the login screen will not accept the email address, keeps reverting to a different email address and then not allowing me to login. So, I went to the forums. Found a person with same issue as me, and 10 replies, none of them helped me and none of them helped original poster of the comment. But, One comment really amplified the reason i left Wow. A person had replied, “you are gay, learn to type!”. Also, not one Blizzard employee responded to the post with anything useful.

So, I told my wife…”You want or need help with that game, you call your brother, I am done with it.”

I Know someone will give me the answer to my issue here or after some time in person, but I still will do nothing with it.

Last thought; WoW, thinks that i am in EU. This means that the game takes it's local info from some odd file instead of the Info already in windows. I had a version of EU wow installed on wifes machine, I uninstalled that. Which now leads me to believe that WoW does NOT uninstall everything. Instead leaves pieces of itself lingering on the PC. I will uninstall again with Revo uninstaller, it will clean it out of the PC for sure.

Makes you wonder about game programmers at Blizzard.

I never got into WoW. I'm not a fan of the monthly fees. However, I still salivate over the upcoming release of Diablo III.

10 left over files and 48 registry keys leftover after the uninstall of WOW. Revo Uninstaller, removed all the leftover crap.

Did you download the WOW client from the Battle.net account page?

yes, this is a friends 3rd account that he is letting his sister my wife use, and it's all working for him, just not yet on her PC… 4 hours and counting on new install.. it's taking forever.

4 hours to install, so i looked closer. I had turned of P2P sharing since I didn't feel like subsiding blizzards bandwidth with my own, Unfortunately, i didn't know they would drop to 10k/s … O.o
Turned it back on and now getting 2.0+MB/s
    Makes ya wonder.

I forgot to update this…. Bought the game, online 2 copies, this fixed above issues…
It took me 6 hours to get the game installed, and wouldn't you know it, once it was installed… worked/works fine. Copied it over to my PC and changed a reg key (for updates) and works fine. LVL 22 – Night elf druid, on winterhoof(??) Probably not getting another month
