Windows 7 and speech recognition

Today I have been playing with windows 7 and speech recognition, the first few times I’ve used it, it did not worked out well.  In fact I use it to chat with my friend in digsby, it was very hard for him to understand what I was saying. However this time today, it was very easy for him to understand what I was saying.  This is due to the fact that I have trained my computer and a 15 to 20 times.  I’ll probably do it another 10 to 15 times.

With this kind of control, I’m able to say what I’m thinking instead of trying to type which I’m not the fastest at.  This will allow me to better explain it and put forth my ideas onto the web, I’m actually quite excited about the prospect.

next paragraph I’m going to try and say as much as possible and see if the computer can keep up.

This summer marks the 10th year of summer theater camps by the Oregon’s conservatory’s of performing arts (ocpa).  Their mission is an ambitious one: two in power and nurture youth of every culture heritage, ability, and level interest through education and performance and the theater arts.

What you see there is a mere reading from the newspaper, “the Medford sneak preview”, it’s kind of cool really that I can just read something and it becomes text.  Leads me to wonder if companies like of the RIAA or MPAA but like more like book publishers, will try to deter or to hinder things like Microsoft’s speech recognition since it could easily be used to copy text.  Then again, that is probably a discussion for a whole number blog entry.

The errors were left in to show how the speech recognition still has some things to learn.
