Iced Tea
| I love Iced tea, sweetened with sugar. It’s a loved drink by the adults in the household. However, I hate making Iced Tea , the boiling of water that makes the house warmer, the seeping time, seems to take forever to get to my desired strength, and last but not least… adding sugar. So I purchased a sub $20.00 Iced Tea maker! the Mr. Coffee TM70 3-Quart Iced-Tea Maker! First question you have I know is, Why buy an appliance to do something that is relatively easy. Well, filling the 3 quart pitcher with ice and putting the required amount of water in the Iced tea maker, then waiting 15minutes is so much easier! (can be brewed from either Tea bags or loose tea!!) I know I can down 3q of tea in a day, or less. Well, I suppose that doesn’t really eliminate my sugar adding quandary. Do I add sugar before? after? during? I have found that a cup or cup and a half, if desired, in a coffee mug with water, in the microwave for 1 minute; makes the perfect Sugar liquid that easily mixes with the tea. You could add raspberry or other flavoring too after it’s done, just like making tea the “involved” way. I am very happy with the tea maker and for $18.00, It’s hard to say that it’s a bad buy. Now, what I learned is that this will make the hot tea, then it gets moved to the pitcher, where the Ice then cools it. So, this device could make hot tea, in large amounts! Or, hot water for cocoa etc. Imagine 3 quarts of delicious candy cane cocoa!! I got mine at Wal-Mart, but you can get it off Amazon.com if you do not like Wal-Mart. |
