Here we are again, at the cross roads of a security issue, born from a companies ill managed security provisions. My Guild wars account, that I haven’t logged into in over 5 months was hacked. The passwords changed and left your humble blogger unable to move forward. I would simply just say “whatever”, but we have sunk a lot of money into Guild wars over the years.
So, like any good consumer that hasn’t given out his password, and has actually added it to a keysafe, so he won’t forget it, I now must deal with support to get help back into my account, that I can only image has been stripped of it’s valuables. None the less, NCsoft asks for 4 bits of info….

The chat in the game has filled with very un-appropriate chat, even worse than before. It’s like being around a bunch of 14yr old that should be in some sort of half-way home.

Blizzard, makers of World of Warcraft, have decided to implement a new feature, “real ID”. The problem is this;
What information about me will other players see when I use Real ID?
If you are using Real ID, your mutual Real ID friends, as well as their Real ID friends, will be able to see your first and last name (the name registered to the Battle.net account).

The RealID is about as safe to use as “Like” on Facebook. At least, for now it is optional.
